Smile makeovers; the latest information on the newest trends

A new smile is just the thing to brighten up our personalities, and a smile makeover is the latest trend to provide us with a brilliant smile from cosmetic dentists. Veneers have been a traditional way of improving our teeth, and the latest innovation is called a Lumineer. Its nick name in the profession is a contact lens veneer, that`s because of its ultra thin and is as easy to fit as a contact lens. The new ceramic formula is so tough that the need for thickness has been abolished to the past. It can even be trimmed and sculptured on the tooth itself. Traditional veneers are still being used as many people like their look, but in order to cement them to the tooth they are covering, they need a bit of tooth preparation. This involves the dentist shaving off its thickness in enamel from your tooth; the indent made is then filled with the ceramic veneer. They last anything from 3-15 years depending on how you look after them and their thickness. Like all good things they do eventually discolour, get chipped, cracked and wear down, so they are easily replaceable. With the new version if you decide to not have a veneer in the future, then you simply have it removed and leave the old tooth as it was. No shaving is needed to have it placed in position, the new formula glue is cure dried in position using an intense light source. Veneers need no special care regime, you just treat them as you would a natural tooth, brushing, and flossing, and rinsing. Tartar removal is as per normal and every six months. A veneer can cover most defects on a tooth, even a misaligned tooth and gaps can now be artificially covered up and you will end up with a really naturally looking set of bright, white teeth and a fabulous smile to boot. It is known that a smile makeover can boost your confidence and morale as well as your smile, this has helped many people to get on better in social circles and make new friends. A set of defective teeth isn`t a rare thing, many of us have them and in the past the cost of fixing them was too prohibitive, today the choices are much better and with so many outlets providing these services the competition is rife. A tooth whitening service that takes just an hour is now available on the High Street, the cost is a few hundred pounds and it takes just an hour to have the treatment by a technician.
